A domain name is an identity in the Internet? For example 1sthost.com is
a domain name.
It is a second-level domain name. www.1sthost.com is the third level
domain name.
What is the difference of an international domain
name and local domain name?
An international domain name is a .com, .net, .org. It is handled by
Network Solution in US. A local domain name is a .com.hk, .net.hk, .org.hk
etc, it is a local HK domain name. If you want to apply HK local domain
name, you need to supply a Business Registration Copy to us.
Can you tell international domain name and local
domain name, which one is better?
It is hard to say which one is better.
But there are still some guildlines.
1. International domain name is more internationalize, if your audience
is always from other country, a international domain name is suitable.
Because French guys, Africa guys know .com already.
2. Local domain name is more representative you are a local company and
you must hold a valid BR Certificate. But Sweden guys don't know .com.hk
maybe.
3. Local domain name is cheaper.
What is sub-domain?
A sub-domain is for example, mail.1sthost.com, "mail" is the subdomain
of 1sthost.com.
If people type mail.1sthost.com, they can access our email web
application web pages.
How much do a local domain name cost?
HK $200 is the cost for applying a local HK domain name. It is charged
by HKNIC.
How much do an international domain name cost?
USD 70 = HK $546 is the cost for applying an international domain name.
It is charged by Network Solution in US.
Will my domain name expire?
For local HK domain name, it will not be expired. $HK 200 is the one
time cost.
For international domain name, you need to renew the domain for every
two year. That means you need to pay USD 70 = HK $546 for every two
years.

Internet is one of the different forms of media. It offers comapny new

How long will it take to reserve a domain name?

All companies registered in Hong Kong or China can apply for .CN domain
names. Only companies registered in Hong Kong can have a
domain name .HK. .CC and . TO are open for registration to all.
If I have hosted a web site in another web hosting
company, how can I transfer your doamin to 1sthost.com ?
A domain name transfer is usually initiated by a hosting company to send
a request to the InterNIC. InterNIC requires authentication of every
domain transfer request. This verification is usually conducted through
an email handshake. InterNIC will send the Administrative Contact an
email. To authorize the domain name transfer, the Administrative contact
must follow the instructions and reply to this message from the same
email address.
If the administrative email is not under your control, then you have to
request the corresponding party to reply the domain name transfer email
for you. We strongly recommend the domain owner to be the administrative
contact of the domain name. For example, Mr Chan is the boss of ABC
Company, if he want to apply the abc.com, Mr Chan should be the
administration contact of this (abc.com) domain name.
What is the charge for deletion of domain name?

Registration), can I apply another local domain name using my company
Business Registration Certificate?
No. One local company with one local Business Registration Certificate
can only apply one domain name. You need to use another Business
Registration Certificate to apply another local domain name.
What do I need to concern about choosing a right
(good) domain name?
The answer is choosing a domain name that suit your purpose.
Here is an example :
For example, a company calls Tuen Shing Trading Company Ltd. The company
specific domain of this company may be tuenshing.com or tuenshing.com.hk.
1. Choose a company-specific domain.
A company-specific domain is a domain name that matches the company
business.
2. Combine the domain name with your business purpose.
For example tuenshingtrade.com or tuenshingtrading.com.hk.
3. Combine the domain name with some specific-meaning words.
